Our National Capital (Ottawa/West Quebec) office has seen continuous growth since its opening in 2016, with our local team now over 100 employees! To keep the positive trend going, we are seeking to add another strong civil CAD/Civil 3D Tech to our team.
The Engineering, Design and Project Management (EDPM) division is currently seeking an Intermediate Civil Technologist for its National Capital Region office. We are looking for innovative, forward-thinking people who enjoy challenge and actively seek to develop and improve work processes. Education in Civil Technology with a transportation or land development background is desirable.
How will you contribute to the team?
Provide general AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MicroStation drafting for the preparation of preliminary and detailed design drawings including roadway plans, profiles, typical cross-sections, geometrics and lane configurations, drainage and dry utilities, spot elevations, signing and pavement markings, detours/traffic control plans and construction staging; storm and sanitary sewers, watermains, and storm detention facilities
Provide site reviews and inspections of ongoing construction in Municipal Infrastructure, Land Development Projects, Rail/LRT project works, etc
Assist the engineers preparing detailed design calculations and layouts
Assistance in document control
Conducting site visits and inspections
What will you contribute?
Post-Secondary education in Civil Design/Drafting from a recognized institution
OACETT Civil Engineering Technologist (CET) Certification or verification of CET prequalifications considered an asset
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in civil design/drafting in roads, transportation structures, buried utilities in Ontario or Quebec
Experience including construction site reviews, inspections, survey and related construction-site experience for civil and/or bridges/structures
Bilingualism (French and English, written and spoken) an asset.
Sound project coordination experience in a multi-disciplinary environment
Extensive hands-on experience with CAD, Civil 3D and some Microstation with respect to Alignments, Profiles, DTMs, Pipe Networks, Sections, View Frames and Sheets
Effective communication skills
