Our Mining Division has an exciting opportunity and is looking for a Project Accountant to join our team in the execution of a new mine. To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to following:
What will be your contribution?
- Project accounting, project reporting and financial highlights
- Preparation of project related month-end journals, for example: accruals, risk reserves, and forecast reconciliations
- Bank, A/R, A/P, H/B, commitments, reconciliations to the G/L
- Collaboration with Project Financial Controller in the preparation of budgets & forecasts
- Monitoring of foreign exchange variation
- Cash flow management and input to the cost control system
- Financial control, security and accountability
- Verification of accounting calculations, particularly on invoices
- Validation of invoices in accordance with contractual terms and ensuring their timely payment
What we are looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
- Designated CGA, CMA or equivalent with 5 – 8 years overall experience in full-cycle accounting
- At least 3 years of experience working as an accountant in construction projects (O&G, Mining or Infrastructure)
- Proficient in MS Office applications with strong Excel skills; deep knowledge of and experience with Oracle and PM+ an asset
- Ability to prioritize & manage time effectively, adaptable & flexible, able to meet deadlines
- Organized and self-motivated team player, as well as an individual contributor
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
