Working for our Project Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining an effective and efficient project support system which will include project finance, administration and document control.
You will have the opportunity to develop your career and play a critical role supporting the development and implementation of our client’s portfolio of projects. Supporting our projects throughout the project delivery stages you will play an important role in the planning and coordination of complex projects. About the Project or About the Team
We are looking for a Project Support Administrator to support the delivery of a portfolio of projects for our client over a ten-year period. These projects include:
-modifying existing process plant and infrastructure to comply with legislation,
-the development of new subsurface energy storage assets,
-investigating the use of the client’s facilities for decarbonisation of energy with Hydrogen and Carbon Capture opportunities.
Your role will be an important part of our team providing integrated Project Management Office (PMO) services to support our Client’s portfolio of projects.
As part of the Atkin’s Energy Systems business, you will be a key part of our team and based predominantly from our office in Wilhelmshaven, Germany and occasionally at Atkin’s office in Hamburg, Germany. Building strong and trusted relationships is an important aspect of this role, so flexibility for travel to other locations in the North West region of Germany, throughout Europe and our multiple office locations will be required so you can work closely with clients and colleagues alike.

Our Energy systems business is spread across our Germany and UK offices. You, as part of our Energy Systems team, will support our growth in the UK and European energy market by providing key support to our project management and engineering teams.
What you’ll be doing
Your role will include monitoring and reporting on various project aspects including risk, change, stakeholder management, supplier management, financial management, project planning, resourcing and technical assurance.
The Project Support Administrator shall:
-Support all aspects and administrative tasks delegated by Project Portfolio Manager and Project
Managers (e.g. scheduling meetings, taking minutes, documentation control).
-Provide project procurement support including:
Issue of documentation to tender parties.
Liaise with Client’s commercial and procurement departments to place orders for services and
equipment.
Work with Client’s systems as necessary, inputting and extracting data as required.
Regularly maintaining the documents and templates within the established project lifecycle delivery process.
Reporting supply chain progress.
Support the Project Planner with maintenance of project schedules.
Support the coordination of project logistics including management of travel and staff accommodation.
Support project lifecycle delivery process monitoring, tracking and reporting progress to Project Portfolio Manager and Project Managers.
You’ll need to have
College or University degree (to a Batchelor level) in technical or commercial study is preferable but not mandatory. A related professional training is acceptable as well.
Experienced in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
Working experience of at least 3 years.
German native speaker and fluent in English as a 2nd language.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with a variety of colleagues and clients.
Ability to support multiple projects at once and to prioritise your work in order to achieve key deadlines.
Excellent IT skills (MS Office) including experience in managing data within Excel.
Experience in analysing project finances would be preferable but not mandatory.
