We are currently looking for a Protection & Control Electrical Engineer in Training with 1-3 years of experience to join our team. As such, you will be involved in a multidisciplinary team in the realization of projects ranging from feasibility studies to construction.
How will you contribute to the team?
The Protection & Control Engineer (Engineer-in-Training) will report to the Engineering Manager, who will provide supervision for the protection & control design work that includes the following:
Preparation of Protection, Control & SCADA designs from conceptual to implementation stage for Transmission, Distribution and Generating stations.
Preparation of Protection & Control single line diagrams, DC/AC control schematics.
Preparation of SCADA architecture and designs.
Design and development of panel layouts and bill of materials.
Design and Development detailed wiring diagrams.
Development of cable block diagrams and cable and conduit schedules.
Programming of Protection, Control and SCADA devices.
Work on reports and calculations.
Perform site visits.
Perform design work in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code.
Work collaboratively with other team members to deliver projects.
What will you contribute?
Completion of an Electrical Engineering degree program.
Registration or eligible to be registered with EGBC.
Must have a good attitude and good work ethic.
Must have taken courses in Protection in the University.
Must be willing to learn new technologies and programming of devices.
Previous electrical design work experience in T&D and or Generation sector is beneficial but is not a requirement.
Experience in a consulting environment is beneficial but is not a requirement.
Experience with AutoCAD is beneficial but is not a requirement.
Experience with PLC programming is beneficial but is not a requirement.
Knowledge and application of the Canadian electrical code is beneficial but is not a requirement.
Demonstrated excellent written and oral English communication skills.
