We're recruiting for a variety of mid to senior roles in across our highway businesses. Please register if you have any of the skill-sets, mentioned in detail below. If you don’t currently possess these skills sets can we please ask that you explore this site instead of registering for this event, where you will be able to see all the live roles linked to our other business areas. We will be holding other events across the year where we will be looking for wider skill sets than those detailed below.

    • Atkins East Region offices have highway design teams located in Chelmsford, Cambridge and, more recently, collocated in Bedford with Highways England. Primarily focused on strategic highways and local transport schemes in London, the home counties and East Anglia we have mid-senior level opportunities for people with highways, structures & bridges design experience, experienced design technicians and construction assurance experience.
    • Atkins are looking to grow their civil engineering / highways design and supervision capability in our Gloucester office. The team are seeking Project Managers, Civil Engineers with highways, structures, ground engineering or drainage experience to support the delivery of a wide variety of multi-disciplinary projects including M5 Junctions 9 and 10 within Gloucestershire.
      Using your excellent people, technical and delivery skills, you’ll drive a variety of civil and structural designs for major maintenance, new build, and assessment works for highway projects being delivered as part of our long-term Framework Contract with Gloucestershire County Council.
    • Atkins’ Highways business in the Midlands delivers Highway design and development from our hub office in central Birmingham, and our regional office in Nottingham. Serving both the Midlands local transport market and strategic national opportunities for clients including Highways England and HS2, our schemes offer real variety – from local active travel and public transport development to design for strategic corridors for moving people, vehicles and goods across the country.
      We are seeking mid-senior level people with skills in operational safety and safety risk assessment of highways, and mid-level people with experience in design for active travel and urban and sub-urban connectivity and growth schemes.
  • Atkins Trowbridge Office support Wiltshire Council in delivering its Highway Services. The team are currently seeking an Engineer and two Clerk of Works to support the delivery of a wide variety of Traffic Engineering and Highway Maintenance projects. Using your excellent people, technical and delivery skills, you’ll be working as part of a friendly team who delivering a variety of highway maintenance and improvement projects.
    Wiltshire’s typical annual capital programme is circa £25M per year and the largest project we are supporting delivery on is a £130million improvement scheme.
  • Atkins West and Wales region has offices in Swansea, Cardiff & Bristol. We deliver on a multitude of schemes for Local Authority clients across the West and Wales within Frameworks including the West of England Combined Authority and the South Wales Trunk Road Agent. However, we're not restricted geographically or by client and work on a vast range of projects across the UK and Europe, such as Active Travel, Norwegian infrastructure development and delivering on major highway junction improvements throughout the UK.
  • Based in Winchester, you will have the opportunity to work on important infrastructure projects as part of our Framework helping Hampshire County Council deliver and maintain their highways network. Key schemes include the £100M M27 J10, £15M Redbridge Road work and the Transforming Cities Fund projects in Southampton and Portsmouth.
    We have opportunities for Highway engineers at mid-to-senior levels covering highway and drainage design.

On the day of the event, log in to our immersive virtual environment, at any time convenient to you between 12 and 2:30 PM (session 1) or 4 and 6:30 PM (session 2) where you can visit booths to view images, documents and videos. Our highways teams will be available via messaging or video chat at the booths. And you’ll also be able to watch a presentation from our Managing Director Lizi Stewart, as well as our Highways Practice Director Mike Reynolds, and participate in a live Q&A with them.
    • All you’ll need to access our fair is an internet connection and a device such as a laptop, desktop, tablet or smartphone. On the day, just log on here on your browser, and enter the password that you would have set when you register.

  • No, the careers fair is very informal and we want you to feel comfortable whilst engaging with our manager and recruiters. Based on your experience and the conversations you have at the careers fair, we may contact you afterwards to invite you to an interview.
  • This careers fair is specific to specialisms with highways and roads. We're recruiting for a variety of mid to senior roles in across our highway businesses. We’re seeking civil engineers including structures, and highways. We’re also looking for people with skills in environmental, flood / drainage management and project management.
