Jobs for international students

Do you need a work permit?

At AtkinsRéalis, we recognise our business is built from global talent and we actively seek a diverse workforce. We welcome all applications from all candidates, but it is essential you have the right to work in the UK. There are some restrictions in some areas of our business, so please check them on the job description before you apply.

Any employment offer made by AtkinsRéalis is contingent upon you obtaining, and maintaining, the right to work and reside legally in the UK. You will need to notify us immediately if there are any changes to your immigration status following your initial application submission.

AtkinsRéalis is an A-rated sponsor with the UK Border Agency and can sponsor Skilled Worker visas. The rules regarding sponsoring a skilled worker visa from a student visa are outlined below.

An applicant who is applying for permission to stay and has, or last had, permission as a Student, must fulfil one of the Conditions A, B or C below on the date of application:

(a) Condition A: the applicant must have completed the course of study for which the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies was assigned; or

(b) Condition B:

(i) the applicant must be studying a full-time course of study at degree level or above with a higher education provider which has a track record of compliance; and

(ii) the Certificate of Sponsorship must have a start date no earlier than the course completion date; or

(c) Condition C:

(i) the applicant must be studying a full-time course of study leading to the award of a PhD with a higher education provider which has a track record of compliance; and

(ii) the Certificate of Sponsorship must have a start date no earlier than 24 months after the start date of that course.

Although we are not able to provide sponsorship for internships and fixed-term placements, if you're in full-time education in the UK under the Student visa category, current regulations may permit temporary employment during holiday periods or as part of your studies.

Graduate Visas

International students must have completed an eligible course at a UK higher education provider. Students on the Graduate route will be able to work or look for work after their studies are completed for a maximum period of 2 years, or 3 years for Doctoral students. The Graduate route is non-sponsored, meaning applicants will not need a job offer to apply for the route.

The Graduate route will require a new visa application, which will only be possible from inside the UK. Please note that this route is non-extendable. However, graduates who find an appropriate job and meet the requirements may be able to apply to other visa routes, including the Skilled Worker, which is a route to settlement.
