We are currently recruiting for an Account Manager to manage sales and business development activities with several of our major clients.  The position is located out of our Mississauga office.  

In this role, the successful proponent will be responsible for meeting sales targets, by developing a pipeline of new business opportunities, offering technical solutions, managing client relationships, and providing input to client proposals. 

This position reports to the Senior Account Director.

How will you contribute to the team?

Client Intimacy – Establish and maintain business relationships with client representatives, partners, subcontractors as well as internal colleagues.  Identify client needs, develop win/win strategies to address these needs and provide compelling value propositions to the client.  Develop account management plans and opportunity-specific capture plans to retain and obtain strategic business.

Opportunity Management – Perform strategic reviews of available opportunities, conduct assessments to determine alignment with corporate strategy and provide recommendations to Senior Management whether to pursue opportunities further.  Identify risk and reward trade-offs in business opportunities and reflect these in the solutions and business models developed for internal and external presentation.

Team – Work as a member of a strong global team that is focused on the collective growth and success of the organization. 

Industry Knowledge - Work within the industry to apply our unique engineering skills, field services, manufacturing and new product offerings to develop solutions which will add value and strength to our proposals.

Proposals – Provide input to the proposal managers in terms of client hot buttons and winning strategies.  If required, present these proposals to client, partners or others.  Work closely with the Operations team to properly transition successful proposals.  Support lessons learned and action planning following each proposal completion and receipt of results.

Growth Objectives – Maintain accountability for agreed upon growth targets for client account.

Reporting – Utilizing internal reporting tools to track and report on the ongoing status of current opportunities and the sales pipeline.

What you will contribute?

The optimal candidate for this role will be an experienced account manager who has strong business acumen skills, communication skills, technical knowledge of a nuclear power plant, and exceptional integrity. A high energy individual with an entrepreneurial mind set, who is able to influence without formal authority is mandated for this role. This individual will possess a balance of strategic and tactical strengths, with excellent planning and execution skills, who can think analytically.

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Knowledge of Nuclear Power Plant systems and design.
  • A university degree in Engineering or Technical specialty and hold an applicable professional designation.
  • An advanced degree, preferably an MBA is an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management or business development experience with a proven track record in building strategic client relationships in targeted markets and achieving growth targets is a requirement.
  • Experience in working in a team environment and managing large business opportunities from identification of prospects through to closing in both structured and unstructured client environments.
  • Ability to identify client opportunities that fit with our service offering and an ability to translate these client needs into compelling business proposals.
  • Outstanding oral, written and interpersonal skills including presentations to senior and executive level clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • International travel required up to 20% of time.
