Atkins are looking to recruit innovative architects and designers to be part of our South West Regional Architectural Team – based in Exeter, Bristol, Cardiff, or Birmingham. Due to the success of the practice, and the volume of future projects, we have an opportunity to appoint a Part II Architectural Assistant.

Our Midlands, South West and Wales region includes 4 offices Exeter, Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham.  We have over 90 architectural staff across our offices with a particular expertise in Education, Commercial, Energy, Defence and Residential.  Architectural staff include Architects, Architectural technologists, Interior Designers, Landscape Architects and Building Surveying professionals with a balance team mix of graduates through to senior professionals and directors.  People are the heart of our success and supporting, training and mentoring our staff is paramount to Atkins remaining at the forefront of design and innovation.

We strongly encourage and offer support to individuals through either their post Part II placement. Requirements:

  • This role requires a recognized Part II qualification and the ability to work within a team to produce detailed 2D and 3D design drawings, concept sketches and presentation graphics. Self-motivated and committed individuals who can not only be clear thinkers but can also be a strong team player with a willingness to learn and improve is key
  • We are looking for individual who can consistently contribute to the successful delivery of a complex, small, medium, and large-scale project. Consistency and accuracy in all work produced is highly desired for this role.
  • Highly computer literate, skilled in Revit, AutoCAD and SketchUp, Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite applications.
  • Excellent presentational and communicational skills both verbally and visually using software and hand drawing skills.
  • Ability to work within a team effectively and deliver tight deadlines on time and on budget.
  • The personal qualities required from the applying candidate should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, organised and efficient with attention to detail. Ability to work effectively, efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Flexible approach to work with a positive and 'can-do' attitude, flexibility and openness of approach and willingness to work as a team player.
