Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Miami, FL Architecture Team as a Architectural Designer.

MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

Under supervision, applies technical professional proficiency to the solution of architectural problems and the coordination of related project activities.

JOB DUTIES

Applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations which generally include the following:

Compiles data.
Works on design assignments for review by more senior architects.
Performs quantity takeoffs and estimates for review.
Prepares architectural specifications, plans and renderings under the direction of a
registered architect.
Inspects architectural features of structures in the field.
Consults manufacturers and evaluates materials.
Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture. This level may be achieved by Architects with four years’ experience since Bachelor’s degree or three years’ experience with Master’s. Typical incumbent has six to ten years of experience.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Proficiency in Revit is required. Working knowledge in Microstation is preferred.
Understanding of architectural practice, building construction, documentation, and strong construction detailing experience.
Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Technical writing and strong communication skills required.
