We are seeking to recruit an Assistant Building Services Engineer to be based in our Epsom office to support the ongoing expansion of business opportunities within markets ranging from education, defence, energy, transportation and urban regeneration.
The role would be suitable for Building Services Engineers with either an electrical or mechanical bias, and who are looking to further develop their career within Building Services. As an Assistant Building Services Engineer you will work in multi-disciplinary teams and, with the full support of Senior Building Services Engineers, be involved on a day-to-day basis with design, project delivery, building services inspections, report writing and other aspects of building services engineering.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to one of our experienced Senior Engineers; we are looking for individuals who can contribute towards our aspirations of further developing Atkins’ position in the building services and construction consultancy market.
This role encompasses -
- Design of mechanical / electrical building services and low carbon design in relation to the design of new buildings or redevelopment.
- Undertake design preparation, calculations, thermal modelling and analysis - using software including: Revit, IES and Amtech.
- Liaising and relationship building with clients, partners and supply chain.
- Liaise with engineering teams in the UK and our global design centres overseas to deliver high quality building design projects.
- Prepare and coordinate project designs.
- Prepare costed feasibility studies and option reports.
- Prepare building performance specifications.
Requirements:
- Interest in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering in the context of the design of buildings.
- Degree in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
- Proficient in CAD; preferably with Revit experience.
- Experienced in preparing drawings and reports.
- Ability to work collaboratively and integrate into multi-disciplinary teams or work independently.
- Ability to use your initiative and have a desire to improve your technical capabilities.
- Able to adapt to different cultures and working environments.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations and CIBSE guidelines.
- Due to the nature of projects, you must be eligible for security clearance and will be provided to undergo a security vetting process.
