The Building Design practice have an opportunity to recruit an Assistant Building Surveyor in to our London team (based from our Nova North office near Victoria Station). The role would suit a graduate or assistant-level Building Surveyor who is looking to develop their career alongside a team operating in a multi-disciplinary environment and delivering a full suite of building surveying services. We can offer extremely varied and interesting work with a number of high-profile clients across sectors including local & central government, commercial and residential sectors.
Our need to recruit comes from the success of our Practice and the expected growth across a variety of sectors during 2021 and beyond. This position will enable your you to work within an internationally renowned consultancy, working on a variety of different sized projects across South East and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Carry out surveys, inspections, schedules etc and the overall management of minor works projects in the South East.
- Responsibility, under minimum supervision, for smaller projects and assistance on major projects with supervision and support where required
- Design and Specification including the preparation of drawings
Attendance at / and leading on meetings with clients and other technical specialists;
Contributing technical skills and knowledge to the team in order to maintain and improve the quality of our work and the expertise of our people - Managing the client relationship and service delivery on a project by project basis in conjunction with senior colleagues
- Assisting with the development of new and repeat business where possible
Requirements
- Ability to demonstrate good all-round surveying knowledge / expertise
- Desire to develop a career within a consultancy environment
- Committed to work towards RICS Chartered status
- Good team working skills
- Good IT skills, Word and Excel as a minimum. Knowledge of CAD systems would be an advantage
- Full understanding of the importance of Health and Safety requirements
- Driving Licence
This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview.
