As an Assistant Project Controls Manager within F+G, you will work closely with the Project Controls Manager and others in the Project Controls team to assist in the evaluation of project time, cost and quality targets for the project. You will communicate and monitor project governance controls in order to enable the successful delivery of the client programmes, including coordination of Project Controls meetings and administering Project Controls systems and tools, to support the updating of the status of the project.

About the role (accountabilities include but are not limited to):

  • Support the establishment of contractor requirements through early supply chain engagement to support the time, cost and quality targets for the programme of works and monthly business reporting.
  • Support the Project Controls Manager by providing specialist advice and technical knowledge to respond to delays, issues and other challenges throughout the project.
  • Administer Project Controls activities, conduct quality assurance checks of data submissions ensuring proposed data submissions are fully assessed with clear visibility of implications and movements from the baseline position in scope, budgets and schedule and evidence of consultation with other internal functions.
  • Monitor, review and report to the Project Controls Manager on quality of contractors reporting submissions.
  • Provide guidance and corrective actions to teams to improve quality of reporting submissions.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of monthly performance reports to enable prompt decision making, approvals and financial authorisations.
  • Undertake secretariat position for monthly business review meetings and any other meetings as required on behalf of Project Controls.
  • Responsible for diary management of meetings and timely production of agendas, meeting minutes and action trackers.
  • Administer Project Controls processes and systems, ensuring that all audit trails are correctly maintained, accurate and up to date, ensuring documentation is in accordance with company document management protocols.
  • Ensure that all approved changes are correctly attributed, and incorporated into scope, cost, schedule, and risk baselines.
  • Liaise with Corporate and Phase teams to provide advice, guidance, recommendations, and training
  • on process’ and systems.
  • Support the maintenance of the internal Interchange pages for Project Controls, ongoing procedure/process updates and other ad-hoc tasks as occasionally required.
  • Provide user feedback and support ongoing development of requirements, design improvements, user testing, training and implementation of Project Controls systems and processes.
  • Support the Project Controls Manager by providing specialist advice and technical knowledge to respond to delays, issues and other challenges throughout the project.
  • Administer periodic correlation of schedule, cost, quality and risk to drive expedient Programme delivery.
  • Assist in the coordination and communication of the period reporting cycle, ensuring correlation to the Phase’s executive reporting life cycle.
  • Undertake self-assessment of procedural compliance and share lessons learned / best practice within the Project Controls community.

About You:

  • Understanding of Project Control principles in the context of a major programme.
  • Experience of facilitating and administering multidiscipline meetings with large groups of stakeholders.
  • Experience in a Project Management or Project Control role on construction or infrastructure projects, preferably with a formal Project Management qualification.
  • Experience of maintaining corporate systems and ability to deliver against demanding deadlines.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships, providing meaningful guidance and support to colleagues in different disciplines.
