The nuclear sector within Atkins (part of SNC-Lavalin) has been operating for over 40 years with operations based in Canada, the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the USA.  We are a world leader in the development of the next generation of nuclear power.

Our Middle East office, centred in Abu Dhabi, has become one of the largest nuclear engineering consultancies across the region, and at the forefront of emerging nuclear power markets, as well as playing a key role in the renewable and emerging energy storage market

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced assistant project manager to join our Abu Dhabi office to help us manage the internal and external transactions of delivering work to our key clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Owning the production of clear proposals in line with our internal commercial processes, and utilising the experience of the broader group where needed.

  • Establishing the front-end set up for projects, including quality plans, schedules and other key project management and controls documentation.

  • Proactively managing the delivery of work to our client(s), with regular face-to-face communication (this will often be at the client’s site).  Delivery will include management of overseas delivery from our technical teams from Canada, the UK, India, and the US.

  • Project delivery, profitability, cashflow and close-out.

  • Providing technical input to the projects where skill sets match.

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree qualified in a scientific or engineering field. (preferable)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to deal with people at all levels

  • Experience prioritising a varied and busy workload and with the use of own initiative at all times.

  • Fluent written and spoken English.

  • At least 5 years’ commercial and/or project management experience preferably in a consultancy environment.

  • Preference will be given to those with nuclear and/or conventional or renewable power project experience.
