Project Lead - Quantity Surveying (Aviation)

Faithful+Gould are seeking to expand the team based in the UAE. We are looking for hire a Project Lead with proven experience in aviation.

Essential Criteria

• In-depth knowledge and experience in leading aviation projects at both pre & post contract stage;
• Aviation project experience for 4-5 years preferable;
• International construction project experience added benefit;
• Previous delivery experience in UAE preferable;
• Good contract, commercial and financial understanding, 10 years post qualification experience;
• Excellent written English for preparation of task orders, contract letters and communications;
• Good negotiation skills to agree sub-contracts with third parties;
• Previous experience in government departments/client side roles;
• Large company & project financial control systems use & understanding;
• Good attention to detail and ability to review invoices and contracts prior to issue;
• Experience in cost planning, estimating, BoQ preparation, tender services including drafting, analysis, negotiating etc. is necessary;
• Experience with interim and final account payments, cost reports, management of insurances and bonds etc. is required.

Desirable Criteria

• Professional Membership (MRICS,);
• Knowledge of UAE contract law;

Responsibilities

• Contract interpretation and advice/action

• Managing and assisting technical teams to prepare task orders/work packages
• Maintaining rolling revenue & profit forecasts
• Reporting on project performance
• Leveraging project commercial performance – revenues and costs
• Ensure time charge hours properly captured and invoiced on time

The Individual

• Degree in Quantity Surveying from recognized University;
• Must have previous experience of FIDIC Contracts;
• Strong contractual, commercial and financial knowledge;
• Min 15 years post-contract relevant capacity in contracts and commercial management;
• Must have consultant and/or client background for minimum of 5 years;
• Must have previously worked on aviation projects;
• Minimum of 3 years international experience preferred;
• Project management acumen;
• Good communication skills;
• Politically aware;
• Team player, team leader;
