Job Description - Attorney/Project General Counsel

Legal counsel with strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with experience in government contracting, litigation management, and providing legal support to Federal Contractors performing services directly for the Federal Government.  Must be US Citizen to apply and be considered. Specific tasks could include:

• Managing all legal issues facing prime contractor for the Department of Energy.
• Managing litigation and legal budget in accordance with a litigation management plan.
• Pursuing claims and defending claims as they arise.
• Supporting major contract changes, modifications, requests for equitable adjustment and disputes; supporting contracts and procurement group as needed.
• Providing human resources and labor counsel (or managing outside counsel) on issues including benefits, discipline, collective bargaining units, ADA and Title VII compliance, and other miscellaneous HR elements.  
• Serving as corporate secretary and supporting a Board of Directors and related committees.
• Advising on corporate legal matters and intellectual property issues.
• Advising on safeguards and security issues, along with export control issues.
• Conducting training as needed for company compliance and best practices.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Education

• Juris Doctorate required

Certifications

• Active State Bar certification, in good standing

Required Experience

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an active attorney
• Government contract knowledge/experience

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 7 years of experience with direct expertise in government contracts and human resources
• Department of Energy experience
• Prime contract experience
• Export Controls experience
