Requirements: 5 GCSEs including a B/6 in Mathematics & C/5 in English Language and Double Science + 120 UCAS points including Mathematics and a stem related subject (Full details)

As an apprentice systems engineer at Atkins, you will join a vibrant ADS&T Systems Engineering team, working with some of the finest minds on the most challenging engineering projects of our time. Day-to-day you will work on a variety of tasks for different clients, which will aid you in developing and cultivating your understanding of how systems function and interact together. Atkins encourage you to think outside the box, collaborating with industry experts to design new systems to be used in the real world. You will learn how to look at a system as whole and consider every aspect of its design from initial concept to disposal at the end of its lifecycle.

During your 5 year apprenticeship, no two days will be the same as you study and work with a variety of teams whilst developing the skills you need to enjoy a great future at Atkins. You will spend the first year at college full time and Years 2 to 5 will be one day a week at college with four days working in the office. You’ll study towards a Level 6 BEng degree qualification. Not only will you learn in the classroom, you’ll enjoy being part of the team as you will get involved with all kinds of projects and learn something new every day.

But your development does not stop there. Atkins is committed to supporting your continued progression, providing you with new skills and experiences so you can drive your career in the direction you want.

• Not afraid to show initiative or ask for guidance when you need it, you must be customer focused and commercially aware with a strong attention to detail
