Requirements: GCSE's including a B/6 in Mathematics & a C/4 in English Language + a C grade A Level or equivalent in Mathematics plus a STEM based subject (Full details)

Apprentices will work with a variety of teams, join us and you can expect to be involved in a variety of projects:

Based here you’ll find yourself working on projects primarily in the Nuclear industry. Some of our key projects include: The Technical Support Alliance for EDF Energy Nuclear Generation; Hinkley Point C; CGN; ITER; HMNB Devonport; AWE and Magnox decommissioning. We are looking for candidates from a Mechanical Engineering or heavily mechanical focussed background. You could work across one of the following groups;

Plant Systems and Safety: This group supports the changes to the design and operation of nuclear power plant mechanical systems. Joining this team, you could be supporting clients with safety case development, engineering design and substantiation, hazard studies, remote operation development, and new build design assessments. 

Design and Analysis:  This group specialises on stress / structural analysis and complex mechanical / offshore design. Joining this team, you could be involved in supporting clients at various stages of the lifetime of a structure from initial design and detailed design to asset management and lifetime substantiation (including life extension / re-substantiation).

Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning: This group focusses on the systems that manage environmental hazards within buildings and structures. Joining this specialist team, you could be involved with analysis of hazards and the design of mechanical services across a wide variety of projects.

Although you will be assigned to a specific group/team, there will be opportunities to work across the other groups in Bristol

During your 5 year apprenticeship, no two days will be the same as you study and work with a variety of teams whilst developing the skills you need to enjoy a great future at Atkins. Spending either one day a week at the college or doing block weeks. Not only will you learn in the classroom, you’ll enjoy being part of the team as you will get involved with all kinds of projects and learn something new every day.
