Construction Finance Analyst

Our New Mexico Team is growing! This pivotal position is responsible for managing and controlling capital project budgets at the work breakdown schedule (WBS) level. This position requires someone with related experience in construction and is highly detailed and collaborative. While this is a remote position for now, the Construction Finance Analyst is a client facing position that will eventually require the candidate to be located at our premier clients’ semi-conductor manufacturing site in Rio Rancho, NM and will report to the Operations Director. Must have the authority to work in the U.S without current or future need of sponsorship. This is an IMMEDIATE need with active interviews currently taking place.

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Prepare and issue monthly, quarterly, total project funding and commitment forecasts to the capital construction team.
  • Manage and control capital project budget and spends of the work breakdown schedule (WBS).
  • Create WBS codes and scope alignment.
  • Validate and approve purchase requisitions/change orders.
  • Review all project invoices and ensure junior technical staff uses proper coding before forwarding to the client.
  • Oversee and report to the client on contractor buyout of subcontract bid packages when applicable.
  • Schedule and guide regular cost meetings to align budget, spending and change order status with contractors and engineering teams.
  • Monthly spend to forecast variance analysis and drive forecast to spend within required acceptance range.
  • Perform risk and opportunity analysis.
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with reporting standards (corporate Finance and Accounting policies).

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, quantity surveying, construction management, or related field.
  • Five years’ relevant experience.
  • Must have strong cost management, scheduling, project planning, and estimating skills.
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills (high level of professionalism is required as this position frequently interfaces with key stakeholders both inside and outside of the clients’ organization).
  • Must be able to use A/E and CM cost and/or schedule information to evaluate project status.
  • Must have experience in developing budgets, cash flows, and/or schedules
  • OSHA 10-hour certification preferred.
  • Experience in semi-conductor, commercial, industrial or refinery is preferred.
  • Must be highly articulate, have clear and logical approach to problem solving, and strong deciding abilities.
  • Working knowledge of industry standard software (including but not limited to SAP, Power BI, and cost management applications).
  • Must thoroughly understand and utilize information technology in the performance of work (including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project).
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred.
