Construction Manager - TransitNext

TransitNEXT is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SNC-Lavalin. SNC-Lavalin is pleased to announce that TransitNEXT, has reached financial close on the Trillium Line Extension project. As the sole proponent in the TransitNEXT team, SNC-Lavalin will design, build, finance and maintain the new extension, and will also assume responsibility for the long-term maintenance of the existing Trillium Line.

The Construction Stations and MSF manager reports to the Deputy Project Director. He/ she is responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Manage field engineers, superintendents, labor force and subcontractors
• Responsible for planning and organizing the work and ordering materials.
• Administer a major design build stations and MSF subcontract.
• Ensure compliance with the project requirements.
• Ensuring Health & Safety Plan for all activities related to site works.
• Make recommendations to optimize the Stations and MSF design.
• Resolve problems affecting the successful completion of the subcontract work
• Monitor and review subcontractor progress and works schedule.
• Coordinate subcontractor’s schedule with overall Project schedule and other subcontractor’s schedules.
• Coordinate access requirement between overlapping subcontractors.
• Coordinate design and construction interfaces with other subcontractors.
• Monitor quality, safety and environmental performance.
• Interface with the Client and third parties.
• Facilitate obtaining any required permits.
• Coordinate requests for information and issue field instructions.
• Evaluate, negotiate, quantify and approve changes.
• Prepare SOW, BOQ and specifications for design & build Project.
• Review, negotiate and approve progress payments.
• Manage Stations and MSF budget.
• Prepare progress reports (cost, schedule…)
• Coordinate completion and handover process, including inspections, deficiency lists, handover documentation

• You have  strong knowledge of scheduling, project management and contract software
• Ability to correctly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes and produce workable solutions
• Working knowledge in NFPA 130.
• Experience interacting with design groups and suppliers.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong, self-motivated, work ethic.
• Ability to make decisions in the field based on sound judgment and experience.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Experienced in Systems/Communication installations.
• Experienced in transit installations and LRT an asset.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to work on multiple Project simultaneously.

• More than 15 years of experience.
• Experience in MEP Constriction and Engineering.
• Experience in Large Project- either EPC or PPP.
• Experience in managing Architectural, Structural and Systems works including engineering, procurement, subcontractors, and site supervision.
• Strong knowledge of scheduling, project management and procurement.
• Strong knowledge of cost control and issuing weekly reports.
• Ability to correctly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes and produce workable solutions
