Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Dallas, TX Project Controls Group as a Construction Scheduler.


MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

Provide project scheduling support to Clients and Project Managers to help meet contract schedules and budgets and/or assist in the research and review of data for construction claims analyses.


JOB DUTIES
  • Prepare time determination construction schedules per plans and specifications utilizing previous construction experience and scheduling best practices.
  • Review schedule Baseline review including durations, logic, sequencing, production rates constructability review and methods statements for compliance with contract requirements.
  • Provide written comments and recommendation to Project Engineer.
  • Review monthly schedule updates submitted by contractor.
  • Provide written comments and recommendation to Project Engineer.
  • Prepare schedule reports and exhibits to assist in the evaluation of schedule delays and remaining as planned work.
  • Attend work session with contractor and client as needed for schedule discussion throughout the project.
  • Provide ongoing schedule review and evaluation support through project completion.
  • Prepares miscellaneous reports and correspondence to support project managers in the development of contract change orders, manpower allocation plans, etc.
  • Research, compile and review data for construction claims analyses.
  • May perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline plus three years' relevant experience, or two years' experience since Master's degree.


SPECIAL SKILLS
  • Ability to use computer, to prepare accurate reports and supporting documentation.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Primavera P6, Schedule Analyzer, Deltek Acumen and applicable Windows Office software.


PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS
  • None.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • General knowledge of construction and maintenance of highways, streets and bridges.
  • Prior construction inspection experience preferred but not required.
  • Prior interaction with Texas Department of Transportation as a consultant or contractor a plus.
