We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic self-starter to join our team as a Design Engineer - Bridges (Evergreen). This role will be based at our Atkins office in Bangalore, IN.

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Check design and assessment calculations of team members and review detailed drawings.
  • Ensure delivery of project in accordance with to quality, timescales and budget.
  • Play a major role in the development of technical skills and in providing technical guidance to the team.
  • Ensure technical proficiencies of self and team are kept up to date.
  • Liaise and interact with Atkins businesses in the UK/Europe Market.
  • Apply Atkins’s Quality, Safety & Environmental (QSE) standards and Business Management System (BMS).
  • Complete timesheets accurately and on time.

What will you contribute?

  • Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an institute of repute.
  • 5+ years’ total experience, of which at least 3 should be in bridge design.
  • Experience in structural engineering software and MS-Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues, seniors, team members and clients.
  • Experience of technical leadership at feasibility and detailed design stages.
  • Ability to fully understand, explain, present and solve complex technical problems for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in bridge engineering software such as LUSAS, SAM-LEAP, RM-Bridge, ADAPT, MIDAS/Civil or SuperSUITE.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or Microstation.
  • Experience of working abroad or on international projects. Experience of working in UK and Europe Market preferred.
  • Exposure to international codes of practice.
  • Competency in writing technical reports and making presentations.
  • Commercial knowledge – estimates, programmes and costs.
  • Professional accreditation from ICE/ IStructe preferred.
  • Produce design solutions from outline briefs, correctly interpret data and effectively communicate to others.
  • Actively contribute to technical promotion and in writing effective sections of technical reports.
