If you’re a digital native, comfortable using a wide variety of social networks and content management system platforms for marketing and communications purposes, and have excellent writing skills then this role could be for you. Working within the Regional Communications function, you’ll have day-to-day responsibility for the SNC-Lavalin social media content for the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific (MEA & APAC) regions. You’ll create engaging written and visual content, monitor conversations, and provide internal support and training to colleagues in the region. You’ll promote our unique content, share company news and provide campaign support to ensure we amplify our messaging in a targeted, sustained way across our chosen channels. You’ll work on leveraging thought leadership content on social media platforms and identify a network of key spokespeople and influencers across the business sectors to amplify regional updates and initiatives. You’ll be writing different types of SEO content friendly such as short blogs, features, success stories, and news updates.

We’re now looking for a digital communications advisor to join our MEA & APAC communications team and assume responsibility for the day-to-day running of our regional social media content in coordination with Group Digital Communications team and get involved with other digital and communications based initiatives, such as corporate website content. Specific professional services experience isn’t essential, but all applicants must have exceptional writing skills, experience in a corporate (communications) environment and ideally have demonstrable experience across a number of digital platforms.

You’ll be joining a high performing, digitally focused team that operates across the existing
SNC-Lavalin and Atkins, which was acquired by SNC-Lavalin in 2017, digital estates. We’ll provide bags of support, opportunities for ongoing development, as well as an everyday working environment that’s second to none. 

This role reports directly to the PR & Digital Communications Manager, Middle East & Africa, and is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role is also expected to spend time and work together with SNC-Lavalin regional team based in Dubai office and other offices across the region, as required. Working in the Regional Communications team, you’ll have close interaction with the internal communications, PR and marketing communications teams, and play an active role in ensuring we communicate effectively with staff, clients, government, investors, media and other stakeholders. You’ll have exposure to the other communications disciplines and from time to time, be expected to support and get involved in team-wide initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Management of SNC-Lavalin’s regional content for MEA & APAC on corporate social media channels (Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube)
  • Manage the digital content calendar
  • Content creation, curation and copywriting for a variety of online media and formats
  • Develop SEO friendly content for corporate channels and support key spokepeople/influencers to leverage relevant business updates and initiatives on their channels
  • Support and guidance in relation to social media policies and training materials
  • Monthly detailed regional analytics report
  • Best practice advice and guidance to broader communications/marketing community and recruitment team on social media best practice, content planning, etc.
  • Content management across multiple websites, including CMS and HTML editing
  • Online branding / marketing / proofreading support and advice, including providing guidance to others on messaging, visual brand, etc. – and application of the brand and tone of voice
  • Research and internal knowledge-sharing on digital news and trends
  • Digital estate management and support, beyond social, including: website(s) and multimedia library
  • Other support for ad hoc digital initiatives, as well as broader Regional and Group Communications activities and general campaigns, will be required.
  • Providing other communications support in Saudi Arabia, as needed, in coordination with regional communications team.

Requirements

Essential skills / experience required

  • 3-5 years of experience of managing / administering multiple social media accounts and SEO content writing
  • First class writing and proofing skills in English/ speaking, reading and written communications in Arabic is a must. Saudi nationals are preferred for this role.
  • High levels of competency in all aspects of Microsoft Office
  • Strong interest in digital and social media
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and/or Creative Cloud
  • Experience with creating engaging visual content using online tools and free stock photography
  • Experience with live events coverage for social media and basic photography/videography skills 

Desired skills / experience required

  • Knowledge and basic familiarity with editing HTML
  • Knowledge of SEO and its correlation with digital content
  • Knowledge of running paid social media campaigns
  • Experience with different CMS platforms
  • Google Analytics knowledge
  • Experience of working with remote/international teams and colleagues
  • Demonstrable ability and confidence to work autonomously
  • Experience in a corporate communications team

The successful applicant should be comfortable working in a team and under their own steam, actively supporting the business and their colleagues, with a positive and outgoing personality. Highly organised, it is expected you’ll have the ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail. You’ll be a strong communicator, with excellent interpersonal skills and be confident in dealing with a wide variety of people, including senior stakeholders.
