How will you contribute to the team?
To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Technical lead, focusing on Digital RF Radio System and DAS design and integration aspects, of all communication technologies proposed for bids and deployed on projects, including all hardware and software components applied to the transit industry.
- Supporting all Digital Radio System and DAS design life-cycle activities, from requirement analysis to conceptual design, detail design, Integration, verification and validation, O&M and system retirement.
- Technical document writing and vendor or peer document review.
- Working closely with the Systems Design Manager and relevant team on specification and delivery of Digital RF Radio System and DAS into overall transit, urban rail and heavy freight projects.
- Support to Factory Integration Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Test (SAT) and System Integration Test (SIT) and test documentation and testing.
- Support of construction and installation activities in the field.
- Assistance with the generation of O&M detail design documentation.
- Training the growing design integration team sharing knowledge and experience from previous projects and relevant industry best practice.
What will you contribute?
- Professional Engineer of Ontario or Eligible to Obtain.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science or equivalent.
- 8 years of experience is related fields.
- Direct experience with DAS and IBS design and deployment.
- Direct experience with Wi-Fi System design and deployment for enterprise and Industrial environment.
- Experience with wave propagation models and radio network planning tools such as iBwave.
- Advance knowledge of RF cables and components applicable to Digital RF Radio System and IBS solutions.
- Experience with Digital RF Radio System, Digital Trunked Radio systems for Public safety such as TETRA, P25 or DMR.
- Advance knowledge of RF system test and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proven experience in integration of various VDRS, Digital RF Radio System, Wi-Fi and DAS system in rail and transit industry will be considered extremely valuable.
- Experience with RFP and RFQ processes and relevant documentation will be considered valuable.
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Accustomed to working on multiple projects at the same time.
- Self-motivated, self-Learner and able to work with limited direct supervision.
- Able to interact with senior staff as a mentor or technical lead.
- A genuine team player, willing to share knowledge and can think out of the box.
