We are seeking a Senior Environmental Technician or Technologist to join our team serving our industrial, petro-chemical and government clients throughout Ontario and other provinces as assignments arise. This position would be based in our Ottawa, ON office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinating, supervising, directing and/or assisting with:
- Drilling, excavation and other contractors
- Soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil vapour and air sampling
- Site inspections and surveying of varying complexity
- Designated substances surveying
- Installation, operation and maintenance of remediation systems
- Data compilation, processing, analysis and presentation
- Health and safety planning
- Report and proposal preparation
QUALIFICATIONS
- College Diploma in Environmental or Geological Engineering Technology or equivalent
- At least 10 years related experience
- Should have CET and/or EP designation
- Capable of understanding and appropriately applying prescribed safety and technical regulations and protocols
- Willing to undertake field work year-round and travel throughout Ontario
- Effectively and efficiently communicate (verbally and in writing) with inter-disciplinary teams, sub-contractors and project management
- Proficient computer skills
- Mechanical aptitude with capability of troubleshooting mechanical systems is an asset
- Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, independent worker
- Strong organizational skills
- Detail and accuracy oriented
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Bilingualism is an asset
