We are looking to add a qualified Estimator to work as part of our team of multidisciplinary professionals. Reporting to the Technical Lead, the incumbent will Lead estimating efforts for Variations and Claims as well as provide guidance and advice to our team in that capacity.
How will you contribute to the team?
Prepare materials, labour and equipment cost estimation necessary to successfully carry out a construction project according to proposals, plans, estimates and specifications
Oversee / Carry out quantity surveys for various disciplines
Set and maintain proposals, control and report systems and procedures
Analyze the cost of materials, labour, and equipment
Analyze tender documents / recommend tenders for acceptance
Assist in negotiating quotes and eventual contracts
Communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and sub-contractors in order to prepare cost-effective feasibility studies regarding changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Communicates and promotes SNC-Lavalin’s code of ethics and sets the example.
What will you contribute?
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, DEC in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology or any equivalent studies/experience combination
Solid electromechanical background in Light Rail Transit (LRT) projects or similar projects is required, experience in the civil side of the work is considered an asset.
Minimum of 12 years experience in estimation
Good knowledge of Word, Excel,
Experience in Design-Build, P3s environment
Job site experience; an asset
Heavy Bid estimation software; an asset
English essential (spoken and written), French an asset
Previous experience on Light Rail Transit projects an asset
