Financial Analyst - Financial Planning & Analysis

Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst, the Analyst will lead the financial budgeting and forecasting effort for the functions assigned and will support executives in the development of their forecasts through detailed analyses of financial results.  The Analyst will also review and accrue expenses to ensure costs are accurately/completed accounted.  He/she will initiate and complete detailed analyses and will work with management to determine the related financial impact.  He/she will also develop and lead Hyperion/HFM/PBCS system expertise and will act as a point of contact for the production of reports, analyses and forecast uploads.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate the financial budgeting and forecasting process for areas assigned.  Develop analyses and data to assist executives in producing their forecasts within tight deadlines.
• Review and analyze the financial forecasts and develop concise reporting to support executive decision-making.  Follow up on variances by developing detailed analyses and expense tracking mechanisms.
• Complete monthly close tasks for the assigned function including expense review and accrual journal entries
• Work with executives and managers to summarize and communicate monthly key variances and action plans.  Support efforts to follow up on major action plans and ensure they are tracked through financial results.
• Work with managers to implement a monthly review and forecasting process to improve forecasting accuracy.
• Develop HFM/Hyperion/PBCS expertise and act as the main area lead and expert – take responsibility for required activities/loads/reporting.

Requirements:

• CPA title and 2-3 years relevant experience
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, demanding environment
• Detailed oriented with strong analytical skills
• Efficient time management and ability to work under pressure
• Resourceful and self-motivated with the ability to execute
• Team player
• Advanced Excel skills
