As a GIS Consultant in 'Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology' (ADS&T), you will be part of our Data Intelligence practice. You will be devising and implementing GIS solutions across multiple disciplines, through all parts of a project’s life cycle. Working with our clients, you'll be supported by our large Geospatial team to identify, shape and manage GIS capabilities. This position would suit someone with experience of providing GIS solutions based on FME to the engineering sector.

Your purpose:

  • Work as an effective member of a GIS project team on high profile infrastructure projects.

  • Devise and implement FME workbenches to automate GIS analysis routines and data management tasks.

  • Assist with FME best practice guides, QA practices and training.

  • Provide GIS technical support on projects to various disciplines internally from around Atkins and externally direct with clients.

  • Identify and develop business opportunities by providing client focused GIS solutions

  • Project manage internal GIS tasks.

  • Key contact for GIS analysis, modelling, data capture and data management.

  • Communicate the benefits of GIS in a multi-disciplinary environment.

What you can bring?

  • You are passionate about how GIS solutions can solve real problems.

  • You have a degree qualification in GIS or a related field and extensive experience using GIS software.

  • You have demonstratable experience of creating complex workbenches in FME Desktop to run analysis and automate repeatable tasks (desirable to have FME Server experience).

  • You are innovative and able to provide new solutions to client’s problems to save them time.

  • You have extensive experience using ArcGIS 10.x and its extensions including ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro.

  • You have provided GIS support in project focused environments with internal clients in the past.

  • You have proven experience of delivering high quality outputs to deadlines within pressurised environments.

  • You are able to communicate the benefits of GIS to various stakeholders.

  • You have excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
