ATKINS is one of the largest Engineering Company in the world and the most advanced of all in Digitalisation (Level 2 certified globally). The selected candidate, reporting directly to the Technical Director, will develop, maintain and lead the Digital Development and BIM section of ATKINS Norge, building a team of BIM and Digital Operators to support our multidisciplinary, challenging and multibillionaire projects. He/She will operate in Norway but will be part of the Worldwide Digital Community of Atkins and will be have a leading role in the deep transformation of ATKINS towards Digital Twin technology. It is strictly necessary that the resource is endowed with leadership and planning skills.

Responsibilities and tasks for the role of the Seksjonsleder – for its discipline is to:

Lead the Section or Discipline area:

o ensure the Atkins Technical Assurance Goals are complied with;
o ensure the Atkins Design Principles (“Safe by Design” as first) are followed;
o ensure safety aspects are always identified and actively managed;
o ensure risks and issues are identified and addressed (from formal surveillance and audits);
o provide technical direction and guidance to the teams’ leaders;
o contribute in setting up the Digital Infrastructure in Norway within our global organisation
Develop technical capability:
o strategic oversight of the business’s technical capability for their discipline;
o develop tools and technical competence for staff;
o plan and secure the technical resources with the Technical Director;
o promote and ensure that learning and development are maximised in projects.
o Working with Atkins’ Digital community to develop the overall Atkins’ capability.
o Contribute to creating a recognized technical community in Norway
Manage technical risk:
o set and maintain the quality standard and assurance procedures to technical excellence;
o review and approve cross-discipline processes;
o take part in technical risk assessments, technical risk reviews, project technical audits, etc.
o contribute to setting and managing budgets, programmes implementation of change;
o act as Team leader or Technical leader on selected projects.
o regularly monitor and audit that technical outputs are meeting the project requirements;
Help win the right work:
o work alongside the business development team to provide support to growing existing work streams and developing new work streams;
o promote Atkins’ capability and visibility externally through technical papers, conferences, industry working groups, etc.
