We are currently recruiting for a Cyber apprentice to join our Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology business.

The opportunity will be based out of our Bristol office (The Hub)

What you’ll be doing:

Our tailored apprentice programme will offer the support you need to thrive whilst allowing you freedom to choose your own career. Whether you are about to be a school leaver, or you have already started your career elsewhere, we will empower, trust and stretch you from day one to build your own relationships with key clients, solve complex issues affecting the way organisations work and take on responsibility to demonstrate your unique capabilities.

Cyber Security is critical to the understanding of enterprise security risk, implementation of secure design solutions and ensuring any enterprise continues to operate effectively in the modern digital environment.

Apprentices within the Cyber team will work with a variety of colleagues and clients and can expect to develop knowledge in:

• Consulting Skills
• Focussing on understanding the cyber threat landscape
• Enable our clients to fully understand their cyber risks
• Stakeholder Engagement & Communications
• Business Analysis
• Change Management
• Risk Management
• Budgeting and cost control
• Supporting bids

During your apprenticeship, no two days will be the same as you study and work with a variety of teams whilst developing the skills you need to enjoy a great future at Atkins. Spending one day a week OR on a block release basis at your local college, you’ll study towards a 4 qualification, higher apprenticeship in Cyber security technology. Not only will you learn in the classroom, you’ll enjoy being part of the team as you will get involved with all kinds of projects and learn something new every day.

Who we’re looking for

Enthusiastic, inclusive and committed, you should be curious about the world around you and always want to learn more. To really succeed in the role, you will need to demonstrate that you have:

• 5 GCSEs including a C/5 in Mathematics and a C/5 in English Language
• 112 UCAS points (not including General Studies) A levels must include one subject from a software / computing background.
• Or a Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject (IT related)
• Or an International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in ICT
• Or a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 Credits)
• You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject.
• The ability to work in a team, assisting with the planning, design and smooth running of a variety of projects
• Creativity and strong communication skills
• A practical mind
• Self-motivated and reliable - you’ll be expected to work across different locations on a variety of projects

Initial closing date: Tuesday 29th January NB: Some of our programmes are incredibly popular so to avoid disappointment (where some roles may close earlier) please make your application as soon as possible. Assessment centre dates: Dependent on location, assessment centres will be held from December 2018 onwards.
