As a Highways Engineer in our Transportation team, you'll be making a positive, sustainable difference to our world. Our work is complex across high profile infrastructure projects and exciting local schemes, but everyone is up to the challenge. Collaborating with teams in the UK and abroad, your skills will be welcome in our mix. You'll also be trusted with more responsibility sooner, while supported to develop in a direction that suits you.
Your Purpose:
- A civil engineer with 3+ years' experience, you'll take ownership of your deliverables and work to the highest technical standards and quality targets.
- You'll design and develop highway and active travel infrastructure as part of our diverse teams. Often working in a multi-disciplinary environment, our highways engineers work for a range of client organisations from making vital local connections, to developing nationally significant infrastructure.
- Using your excellent analytical skills, you'll collaborate as part of our teams; applying your engineering judgement to solve our client's design challenges across the breadth of the highways discipline.
- You’ll use initiative to contribute to work winning, supporting pricing and proposal development.
- We'll support you, stretch you and help you plan development towards Senior Engineer level - and beyond.
What can you bring:
- BEng / MEng or MSc degree in civil engineering, or equivalent.
- Good progress towards incorporated or chartered status with the IHE, CIHT or ICE.
- Able to demonstrate understanding of the DMRB and / or the Manual for Streets, or a local equivalent set of highways design requirements.
- Able to demonstrate that you are a resourceful problem solver and excellent communicator with commercial awareness.
- Competency with Civil 3D or Infraworks design packages would be a distinct advantage.
