We are currently looking for an experienced and self-motivated Human Resources Business Partner, eager to accept challenges and foster a positive, collaborative team environment in a fast paced setting.

The Human Resources Business Partner will work within the HR Team, providing HR support to the multi disciplined professional services of businesses out of our Vancouver office (downtown) and will report to the VP, Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the business/project strategy by helping leaders to identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes to ensure that the needs of the business are balanced with the need for consistency and equity across SNC-Lavalin Inc.
  • Provide the interface to clients in order to manage key HR processes, identify the needs of the business that have implications for HR strategy and policy and to provide direct support in the development and implementation of strategies for organizational effectiveness.
  • Provide strategic internal consulting/facilitation and problem-solving advice and services to clients.
  • Coach clients on key areas such as: People Review, Objective setting and development, recruitment; terminations; HR policy application and interpretation; compensation, development; employment equity; mobility change management, team effectiveness; and performance management.
  • Work in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition team in the development and deployment of recruitment strategies and processes.
  • Develop retention strategies with clients and understand organizational priorities and objectives.
  • Identify new opportunities where HR can add value to the business.
  • Maintain knowledge of progressive HR practices and key market trends.
  • Ensure understanding of the SNC values and ensure on-going effective positioning with the business.
  • Coach clients on training & development opportunities for employees.
  • Manage specific projects as determined in the annual HR operational plan and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, audits and reporting etc are in compliance.

Qualifications:

• Must have at least 5+ years of experience in an HR generalist capacity

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in industrial relations, human resources management or related field

• Demonstrated excellence in analysis and consulting

• Manage projects, timelines and granular details while maintaining composure

• Maintain a customer focused approach while working with all clients

• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with customers in all decision-making levels of the organization

• Ability to prioritize and take action with minimum supervision

• Proven abilities to solve problems and to influence

• Strong attention to detail and follow up

• Ability to work in teams and collaborate with members of the HR team

• Excellent judgment, discernment, listening skills and business acumen

• Ability to work Autonomously and have the capacity for hard work

• Maintain absolute discretion at all times

• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)

• • Experience working with Learning Management System is an asset

• Ability and willingness to learn Learning Management System (LMS) is essential

• Must have the knowledge of applicable legislation including Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Labour Code, Pay Equity Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Accessibility for Ontarians With Disabilities Act, etc.

• Mastery in the MS Office suite
