Job Description
SNC-Lavalin is currently looking for Intermediate Piping Engineers to join our team in Bruce County, Ontario.  This position will support the refurbishment and major component replacement  project at Bruce Nuclear Generating Station.  Work will be performed at the at the Shoreline Group offices in Kincardine Ontario and at the Bruce NGS site, in Tiverton, Ontario.

This position is for a 2-year term, but can be extended or transferred to a permanent position depending on the business or project needs. 

Responsibilities
This position will report to the Reactor Engineering Manager as part of the Shoreline Group (SNC-Lavalin Nuclear  / Aecon / AECOM joint venture)   The successful candidate will 
•    Perform engineering work following SNC-Lavalin, Candu Energy, Shoreline Group, and/or client QA programs, and applicable codes, standards, and regulation requirements;
•    Provide engineering support in the area of feeder engineering on-site at Bruce Unit 6 Major Component Replacement.  The feeders consist of ASME Nuclear Class 1 pipe, pipe supports, and inline components. 
•    Interface directly with Management, the client, the regulators and trade staff.
•    Review and process Non-Conformance Reports and Field Change Requests, and generate/process related documents
•    Work with engineering management and construction to ensure that the removal and installation of the feeders are as per the technical specifications.

Qualifications
•    Engineering Degree in Mechanical from an accredited university or equivalent degree as recognized by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO);
•    Registered as an Engineer-In-Training or eligible to be registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario;
•    At least 5 years of related work experience in the field of design and/or analysis of piping layout and piping supports within a heavy industrial environment such as: mining, oil & gas, power, etc.;
•    General knowledge of complex mechanical and piping systems or equipment (knowledge of CANDU nuclear systems would be an asset);
•    Working knowledge of CSA N285, CSA B51, CSA N289, ASME Section III, Division1, ASME B31.1 and any other applicable standards or regulatory guides related to permanent plant components, pressure boundary equipment, and/or reactor systems is preferred;
•    Ability to review/understand detailed technical specifications, and piping drawing layouts
•    Must have excellent technical and practical skills to resolve engineering issues or technical problems;
•    Must have excellent communication and technical writing skills;
•    Demonstrate ability to interact effectively with client’s counterparts and with construction trades;
•    Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment;
•    Site experience in construction, or commissioning of plant piping systems for nuclear or other heavy industries would be an asset; and
•    Must be willing to become a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW).
