IT/AV Support Specialist
We are hiring! Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our team in Orlando, FL as an IT/AV Support Specialist, supporting the Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) General Engineering Consultant (GEC) Program, working as an “extension of staff” in the client’s office in Ocoee, FL (metro Orlando area). This position will provide career growth opportunities through Desk Side & Technology Support to the management of FTE General Consulting Engineering Program.
The ideal candidate will have a background as an IT Help Desk and audio/visual (A/V) specialist. They will have a good understanding of technology and demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills. broad base of skills. Willingness to be a team player is a must.
The IT/AV Support Specialist is responsible for the resolution of all second line incident and service requests in the region. They will have a good understanding of technology and demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
Collaborates with Atkins management and staff; Client management and staff; staff of Client’s other consultants and contractors.

How will you contribute to the team?
- General troubleshooting of the desktop computing environment based on incidents and service requests (some of which may be logged via the Atkins Global Service Desk).
- Management and resolution of all 2nd line incidents and assist OIT staff with 2nd level AV support issues.
- Manage all assigned incidents/requests according to defined SLAs (within specific regions) - ensure 100% adherence to RFS & INC Best Practice guidelines.
- Deploy desktop computers and peripherals, as well as record and track assets during deployment according to standards and workflow procedures.
- Maintain regional service excellence by providing customers with regular updates throughout the management of their incidents and requests.
- Troubleshooting a range of technology and telephony issues: investigating, diagnosing faults, and working through to resolution.
- Support the set-up of new offices, sites or projects across the local region.
- Ensure the maintenance of all local equipment rooms and conference room facilities, mitigate risks arising from audits, fire, safety or other risk assessments.
- Develop, review and improve processes to maximize efficiencies within the team.
- Exhibit a flexible approach to working and provide coverage where necessary.
- Provide training and guidance to end users.
- Provide weekly/daily reports/time reporting and updates on current issues.
- Provide conference room support including when needed maintaining connections to equipment.
- Audio/Visual meeting setups
- Coordinate with AV and Telecom support personnel including FTE/CO/other FDOT Districts; Quarterly Turnpike OIT staff meetings; Biweekly coordination meetings; North IT Services meetings
- GEC IT Staff meetings
- Perform floor walks to engage with employees.
- Maintain sufficient equipment stock to deliver service, including maintaining appropriate records.
- May perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
- Serves as an extension of client staff, working on a daily basis with in the agency’s offices.
- Communicates regularly with client staff, project managers, external agencies and consultant staff.
- Must be able to travel throughout the state of Florida to Client stakeholders’ offices and venues for meetings and presentations.
- Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
- ITIL V3 Foundation Qualification preferred.
- Working knowledge of Service Now preferred.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written, oral and listening communication skills in English; good public speaking ability.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft personal computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project; working knowledge of SharePoint and other project management / production support systems.
- Certification from Microsoft preferred
How will you contribute to the team?
- Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, OR a minimum of 2 years of experience in IT service principles and processes.
- Additional experience required includes:
- High level of proficiency and knowledge of working in a Corporate IT environment.
- Solid understanding of hardware and software asset management processes.
- Experience of working to (and exceeding) Service Level Agreements.
- Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
- Strong business focus and customer service skills.
- Working knowledge of database/excel structures/tables/configurations.
- Proven experience of data analysis and good numeracy, analytical and reporting skills.
- Works across client regional offices.
- Broad technical understanding of technology services being supported.
