Based on our forecast needs, opportunities are expected to be available starting soon; positions are fixed term Mechanical or Electromechanical Technician/Technologist status at junior level.
At this time, this solicitation is for the following position, which may be changed to meet project requirements.
Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures and policies.
Assist in assembly, repairing and maintaining of nuclear inspection and mockup equipment.
Participate in equipment testing programs.
Prepare route sheets and edit documents.
Complete prioritized work requests on time.
Become a nuclear energy worker (NEW).
Willing to travel to vendor and project sites if required. Long term assignments at site may be required.
Must be “Team” Oriented with a demonstrated ability to work well with others and promote a positive work environment
Qualifications (include, but not limited to):
Diploma in mechanical or electromechanical engineering technology, certificate of qualification from College of Trades and Apprenticeship or equivalent technical education. (due to restrictions in skill category anyone with an engineering degree and/or working towards PEng will not be considered)
Analytical problem solving skills.
Computer skills - Microsoft Word / Excel etc.
Must be able to demonstrate manual skills and dexterity.
Effective communication (written and oral) and organization skills are essential.
Strong interpersonal skills – be able to recognize areas that need improvement in work.
Experience with hand tools and common shop equipment required.
Knowledge of established engineering design principles and methods.
Forklift and overhead crane experience an asset.
