Junior Welding Technologist

Based on our forecast needs, opportunities are expected to be available starting soon; positions are fixed term welding Technician/Technologist status at junior level. 

At this time, this solicitation is for the following position, which may be changed to meet project requirements.

Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):

• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures and policies.
• Assist in repairing and maintaining of nuclear equipment.
• Participate in equipment testing programs.
• Work with senior welders to develop specialized welding tooling.
• Prepare route sheets and edit documents.
• Complete prioritized work requests on time.
• Become a nuclear energy worker (NEW).
• Willing to travel to vendor and project sites if required. Long term assignments at site may be required.
• Must be “Team” Oriented with a demonstrated ability to work well with others and promote a positive work environment

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Requirements Include:

• Diploma in welding technology, certificate of qualification from College of Trades and Apprenticeship or relevant technical experience. (due to restrictions in skill category anyone with an engineering degree and/or working towards PEng will not be considered)
• Analytical problem solving skills.
• Computer skills - Microsoft Word / Excel etc.
• Must be able to demonstrate manual skills and dexterity.
• Effective communication (written and oral) and organization skills are essential.
• Strong interpersonal skills – be able to recognize areas that need improvement in work.
• Experience with hand tools and common shop equipment required.
• Knowledge of established engineering design principles and methods.
• Experience with robotic welding an asset.
