Linear Asset Technician

Connect Plus Services (CPS) operates and maintains the M25 motorway network, including all adjoining trunk and slip roads on behalf of Connect Plus. The M25 is one of the busiest sections of road in the UK. It is also undoubtedly one of the most significant. We carry out routine maintenance, winter maintenance, as well as managing the whole-life requirement of over 250,000 assets. We also manage the operation of the network and identify ways of reducing delays and improving journey time reliability.

Role Purpose:

Assisting the Asset Managers and wider Linear Asset Team by completing inspections, assessing survey data and output, developing plans of work, producing bills and specifications and overseeing asset renewal and maintenance activities.

Principle accountabilities for the role include:

  • Entering information into NH systems and Agile.
  • Develop standard bills and specifications including Lifecycle Proposal Forms.
  • Support in the investigation and reporting of specific linear asset issues and development of appropriate whole life solutions.
  • Developing prioritised programmes of inspection and co-ordinating with the inspection’s team.
  • Inspections of specific locations to identify, investigate and quantify defects.
  • Contributing to the development of the Asset Management Forward Plan(s).
  • Providing reports from data systems, in response to requests for information.
  • Live the Connect Plus Services Values.
  • Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm.
  • Support the delivery of the business’ Sustainability activities.

Experience/Criteria required:

  • Current UK driving license.
  • Proven experience in highway management.
  • IT skills - Microsoft Office packages.
  • A familiarity with the use of GIS software and databases would be of benefit.
  • Knowledge of NH systems and standards would be advantageous.
