Logistics Specialist (International Trade Compliance)

SNC Lavalin is looking for a Logistics Specialist to join their busy Logistics department in Mississauga.

Responsibilities:

This position reports to Logistics Manager and main responsibilities are:

• Responsible for compliance with Export and Import Permits Act (EIPA) for export of controlled goods and technology subject to Export Control Lists (ECL) as administrated by the Trade Controls Bureau of Global Affairs Canada

• Responsible for compliance with Nuclear Non Proliferation Import Export Control Regulations (NNIECR) related to submission of Export/Import license applications for controlled nucleargoods and technology as administered by Canadian Nuclear safety Commission (CNSC) under Nuclear Safety Control Act (NSCA)

• Responsible for compliance with Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) administered by Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC).

• Establish and maintain Export compliance processes to facilitate the movement of controlled goods and technology to overseas destinations in compliance with Export control Rules and legislations requirements from Canada

• Responsible for compliance with CBSA/CBP Customs Acts and regulations and foreign Customs Acts and regulations.

• Coordinate Import shipments from vendors, overseas clients ensuring accurate Harmonised Tariff classification, Duty/GST taxes calculations, B2/B3Coding form certified for accuracy with designated Customs broker for import customs compliance and accounting of imported goodsand be able to audit customs entries for accuracy and correctness for accounting of goods with CBSA/CBP.

• Develop and maintain logistics, Export/Import compliance, and reporting databases and support the accuracy of the databases on ongoing basis.

• Arrange In transit arrangements with designated Custom brokers and designated forwarders for goods moving In Bond at time of Import/Export from/to Canada & USA.

• Submit CERD Export declarations through CBSA CERD software online for controlled, regulated or prohibited goods as per Customs Act from Canada.

• Maintain “Routing Guides” to ensure the optimal choice of transport carriers to be used, considering the service level required and cost factors for different services available for multimodal transport (Air, Sea, Rail, and Road).

• Provide cost estimates on request to internal business end users, for movement of goods to domestic /overseas destinations based upon use of appropriate carrier and modes of transport (Air, Sea, Rail, and Ocean).

• Arrange Export and import of shipments to/from offshore suppliers/vendors for warranty repairs/replacement purposes in compliance with applicable Customs and other Government department Rules and regulations.

• Arrange logistics arrangements related to Export and import of project shipments (Hazardous, Dangerous Goods, Oversize/Off gauge) by various multimodal transports (Air, Ocean, Rail, Road) to/from various overseas destinations.

Requirements;

• Engineering degree, and /or technical experience

• Good English skills

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and text
