The Infrastructure Engineering division is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineering Lead for its National Capital Region office. The incumbent will lead the Mechanical team to ensure that technical projects are carried out in accordance with disciplines-specific quality standards.
Responsibilities
• Planning and organizational activities
• Support the regional director in market development and in developing the National Capital Region office
• Plan and manage discipline-specific personnel mobilization and demobilization to ensure that engineers, specialists and designers are available when needed
• Ensure that senior engineers respect project execution schedules and budgets
• Maintain a working environment favorable to the application of ethical and professional practices in the execution of engineering projects
• Carry out discipline-specific administrative work
• Developing preliminary design and engineering specifications
• Preparing detailed design calculations and layouts
• Coordinate with other disciplines in planning and executing project tasks
• Guiding and directing junior engineers and designers
• Developing and updating project specifications
• Developing material takeoffs and cost estimates
• Ensuring all completed work conforms to contract requirements
• Conducting site visits and inspections
• Develop feasibility studies
Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in building sector
• Bachelor’s degree in Building Mechanical Engineering
• Professional Engineer in Ontario (PEO) mandatory/ Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) an asset
• Proven experience on public works (ministries, crown corporations and federal government bodies), mandatory
• Market knowledge of the National Capital Region and local industry
• Ability to obtain required security clearance
• LEED AP credential an asset
• Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines;
• Ability to work in a team
• Bilingualism French and English (written and spoken) an asset
