Mechanical/Process Engineer

Our expertise include: Balance of Nuclear Steam Plant (BNSP), Balance of Plant (BOP), Heavy Water Plants (HWR), Plant Life Management and Extension, Steam Generator Replacement, Metrology and Spatial Analysis, Refurbishments and Retrofits, Environmental Qualification, Nuclear Plant decommissioning, Waste Management and associated audits, and Nuclear Research facilities.

Responsibilities:
· Provide design solutions for System, Structure and Component modifications;
· Prepare and/or review design documents for both nuclear and conventional systems of Nuclear Power Plants that adhere to:
a) Applicable codes, standards and regulatory requirements
b) SNC-Lavalin Nuclear Inc./ Candu Energy Quality Assurance Programs
c) Project delivery requirements and schedule
· Deliver on Procurement Engineering activities;
· Implement Ontario Power Generation (OPG) and/or Bruce Power Engineering Change Control (ECC) processes;
· Perform walkdowns, attend site visits, and meetings, as required;
· Support Lead Discipline Engineer and Engineering Manager with timely updates on engineering work progress;
· Support project site installation / construction activities;
· Support commissioning activities;
· Conduct project close-out activities

Qualifications:

· Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited University;
· Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, and member in good standing;
· Minimum 4 years of experience in Mechanical Design, preferably in providing design solutions for CANDU Nuclear Station Systems, Structures and Components in an EPC environment;
· Good understanding of power plant operation and CANDU design basis is an asset;
· Experience with configuration management, plant modifications, and plant design basis;
· Working knowledge of industry codes and regulatory standards, including those applicable to pressure boundary design;
· Working knowledge of OPG and/or Bruce Power ECC work processes and procedures, including Asset Suite and/ or PassPort;
· Working knowledge of analytical design software tools;
· Strong written and oral communication skills;
· Results driven individual with strong inter-personal skills

Other Aspects:
· Travel to client sites, as required
· Security Clearance is mandatory
