Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Lake City, FL office as a Multimedia Designer - Videographer.


MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

Under the supervision of the Sr. Project Manager or other assigned supervisor, the Multimedia Designer - Videographer is responsible for innovative and complex multimedia, animation, video, and graphic design projects to support the client.


JOB DUTIES

  • Plans and organizes the public outreach efforts of major projects.
  • Provides multimedia, video and graphic design services for graphics and media projects.
  • Coordinates staff to ensure project office operates according to the contract with client.
  • Identifies public outreach project goals and makes recommendations to the client of the best means to address the needs.
  • Coordinates and participates in government briefings and project presentations to external groups.
  • Independently conceptualizes complex designs for any type of media project and reviews and refines the concepts with supervisor’s assistance. This includes formats for brochures and other collateral materials as well as animations, video presentations, and graphic simulations.
  • Produces and coordinates project publications, brochures, newsletters, web information and materials; meets with the client to determine key messages and themes.
  • Develops and implements individual project Public Outreach Plans in coordination with the client.
  • Gives technical assistance for multimedia projects and video projects.
  • Creates or selects and modifies illustration, photography, video, animation, and writing as required to meet project needs.
  • Ensure project consistency in format and quality, consulting with supervisor on final layout, style and design, and any problem areas.
  • Performs other such duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Graphic Design, Multimedia Development, or related field from an accredited four-year college or university. Three or more years of professional related experience involving public relations, public outreach and other related areas. Knowledge of public relations and public involvement techniques and strategies; knowledge of media relations strategies.


SPECIAL SKILLS

Job requires ability to write and oversee the design of promotional and informational materials; ability to work in a team environment and to work independently; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; Computer proficiency is required.

Artistic ability, conceptual skills and computer proficiency with PC platforms. Solid knowledge of current graphic and multimedia design, illustration, photography, and animation software.

Working knowledge of software packages from among the following: Indesign, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Maya, PowerPoint, Insta360 Studio, Meshroom, Captivate, Blender 3D.

Working knowledge of 3D Modeling a plus but not required.

Proficient knowledge and experience using the MS Office Suite of programs is also required.

Job requires experience in graphic, multimedia, video and web design to provide proficient execution of page layout, type specification, use and manipulation of color, photo compositing and manipulation, video and audio creation and development, presentation and web development, and general file management ability.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to handle, operate and/or transport computers and other equipment and materials such as: Computers, presentation equipment, cameras, video cameras, microphones and audio equipment.

Ability to multitask projects under the high pressure of frequent and multiple deadlines and deal with interruptions in current work in progress to handle higher priority jobs.

Must be able to seamlessly transition from different types of applications during projects.
