Planner

Education & Skills:

• Suitable experience as a planner on major projects
• Completed qualification in any Engineering Discipline
• Must have excellent knowledge of MS Projects
• Proficient in computer planning software package. (Prima Vera P3)
• Proven ability on MEIP Projects
• Must have Shutdown Experience

Responsibilities:

• Provide a comprehensive planning service to the project management.  Controlling the planners and to ensure they are available at all times setting up parameters
• Develop a detailed plan for the execution of the project.  In conjunction with the Project Manager with the scope of work given to him and dates
• Establish a feedback system whereby all changes to the original plan are notified and re-scheduled in detail, by setting up a reporting structure and feeding it into the computer
• Ensure plans re-updated so that information will be available as required on the status of the project
• Work side by side with the Quantity Surveyor to ensure that all variations are highlighted.  Handing out re-scheduled plans and changes to the Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager and highlighting the changes
• Report on status of project in accordance with the plan
• Provide feedback information to engineering proposals to develop more accurate standards and to compare unit rate estimated and actual, by updating correctly and keeping records of previous plans and actual times
• Liaise with client’s planning department and update with client and compare discrepancies
• Produce a resources histogram for the project and revise – re-scheduling with changes and producing resource histogram reporting by optimising
