About Technology Enabled Services

Technology Enabled Services (TES) is a new group within Atkins that supports the global Atkins businesses by developing and delivering technology to enhance service and value to our clients. Focusing initially on 5 client offerings (asset management, site inspection, data insights, brownfield digitization, and PMO), our role is to provide domain and technology experts, along with technology platforms (our own, and through partners) to support growth of the global Atkin’s business.

About this role

The PMO Product Manager will be responsible for defining and developing a range of technology systems and tools to support various forms of PMO the Atkins business delivers directly or on behalf of our clients.  Given the broad variation of application (from individual projects offices smaller than £1M, to more complex portfolios of projects and programs that total well over £100M), this role will need to coordinate across a broad range of stakeholders and build consensus on both the immediate priorities as well as the longer-term roadmap.

The role will have responsibility for overseeing requirements defined by programme stakeholders, reviewing existing capabilities, oversee selection and configuration of third parting products, overseeing development of internal products where appropriate, and establishing support for adoption and ongoing usage of the technology platforms.

The role will support this business-led initiative and will coordinate across a virtual team that includes business representatives, TES staff, group IS, business change, and other stakeholders and participants.  The role will work closely with the PMO Solution Architect to accomplish these objectives.

Location: Flexible in UK or UAE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with internal business representatives and the business change group to define requirements, short term priorities, and the longer-term roadmap.
  • Gather, analyse, validate, specify and manage detailed product requirements and backlogs within the context of the overall roadmap.
  • Work with the PMO Solution Architect and other domain experts to review existing internal capabilities (across SNCL, Atkins and business unit levels) as well as available third-party products and determine the best approach to support user requirements.
  • Define and manage an industry leading technology suite to support all PMO services across the Atkins businesses.
  • Ensure the technology strategy and suite aligns to and support the wider PMO strategic plan.
  • Implement effective product lifecycle management plans with particular focus on rapid deployment and lean decommissioning/transition.
  • Understand the implications of technical decisions and trade-offs and be able to explain these to users and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee the development of internal technologies and/or the implementation and configuration of off-the-shelf products by working with multi-disciplinary delivery teams.
  • Work cooperatively with technology partners, product specialists and software development teams and ensure delivery is to specified scope, schedule and budget.
  • Communicate delivery progress to stakeholders, and escalate and resolve delivery issues.
  • Manage the launch, adoption and in-life support of these tools and technologies.
  • Support non-technical business improvements and transformation, such as business process improvement, process standardization, and new business models.

Requirements:

  • A team player who can lead, follow and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders in a global organization
  • A relationship builder who can build strong and influential relationships with business and technology leaders
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders with sometimes conflicting requirements and priorities
  • Product or Offering Management experience
  • Experience working with technology vendors/partners and evaluation COTS/third party software
  • Experience with Agile software development
  • Market awareness and domain knowledge of PMO systems and tools
  • Demonstrated success in executing broad programs of work and delivering results
  • A range of experiences that demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced start-up type environment, as well as a large and highly matrixed global organization.
