We are currently looking for a Principal Engineer to join us to work in Leatherhead.
The purpose of the role is to
support the development of the design strategy and implement and manage the
control of the design process to ensure that the design is a winning solution
and can be delivered to meet the project requirements and are in line with cost
parameters.
This role requires an
individual with proven experience at a senior level in delivering design
services and successfully implementing design strategies as well as relevant
project experience.
Leadership
skills in a matrix organisation are required to deliver design services in a
timely manner with a customer and business sector specific focus. Strong
interpersonal and communication skills are required, coupled with an ability to
form effective relationships with partners and delivery team members under time
pressure. Experience of leading a team and coaching team members is essential.
Numeracy
and bid/report writing is a requirement. The individual will know ‘what good
looks like’ in bid submissions and have hands on experience of delivering
work-winning bids in a timely manner. The individual will have knowledge and experience
of contracts.
Knowledge
and understanding of CDM and other H&S legislation with competence in the
Principal Designers obligations under CDM
Relevant
professional membership with an appropriate institute, e.g. ICE or IDT with a
relevant vocational qualification Meng, MSc, BEng, BSc. A valid CSCS card is a requirement.
Excellent
IT Skills relevant to Civil Engineering Design are desirable and Microsoft
Office is essential. Detailed knowledge of codes of practice and other
regulatory material is essential
Competent in highway engineering with
substantial post-qualification experience.
Possesses an in-depth knowledge of Design Standards DMRB / MCDHW etc and
a knowledge of HE procedures.
