The UK&E Resources business requires a Principal Engineer level technical lead to face the asset integrity service line for the oil and gas market.

  • This role will be a leadership position reporting through the Aberdeen management structure but will involve significant interaction with the oil and gas market lead and technical leads from across the global business.
  • The role will be responsible for identifying, growing and leading client operational support and projects based scopes facing mechanical asset integrity for UK and international clients.
  • The individual will be a technical expert in asset integrity with the core role to work with clients, generate and secure opportunities for the delivery teams static mechanical and pressure systems service lines.
  • This will include the development of the UK mechanical static competency and delivery capability against the market need and opportunities.
  • The objective of the mechanical lead role in the UK is to have an individual act as the technical delivery lead and sponsor of growth for our oil and gas static mechanical offering.
  • The role will be UK based serving the key regions globally, those mainly being the UK, and AGT.
  • The role will be able to technically win and deliver our most specialist scopes, act as a lead for larger multi discipline integrity contracts and grow the mechanical offering to our clients.
  • Two key elements of this will be both identifying and managing work through internal global networks as well as leading the growth of the capability.
  • The individual will seamlessly work with the existing technical community and leverage this to meet their objectives i.e. delivering technically excellent work and growing a sustainable market facing static mechanical capability for our UK clients and frameworks.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying, generating and delivering static mechanical scopes
  • Development of client relationships and opportunities, as well as the mechanical pipeline for the business
  • Act as a technical lead for mechanical asset integrity and internal focal point for the UK&E Resources business
  • Project delivery against financial targets
  • Line and team management
  • Growth against the business goals for both the market and technical capability of the business
  • Key technical attributes we look for include experience in:
  • Asset integrity management
  • Asset life extension studies
  • Development and deployment of RBI processes in line with API 580 and 581
  • Pressure systems (static equipment) integrity assessment including:
  • Pipe and vessel stress analysis
  • Fitness for service assessments to API RP 579
  • Design support and verification
  • Support feasibility and FEED studies
  • Site and offshore visits
  • Understanding of corrosion and other degradation mechanisms
  • Understanding of inspection methods and their limitations
  • Experience with pressure systems repair works
  • Desired Experience:
  • In depth knowledge of the UKCS oil and gas industry
  • Client facing and technical business development experience including proposal development and commercial bidding
  • Knowledge in delivery and financial management of projects

Additional Information and Benefits
Travel to other Atkins premises and client sites may be necessary. You should be willing to work flexibly and outside of normal working hours to satisfy the requirements of the role.
