How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Commitment to the design for safety, environmental and quality requirements.

  • Assists with the preparation of Process Design Criteria, Process Flow Diagrams and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.

  • Develops mass and energy balances using various platforms.

  • Conducting efficient literature surveys and presenting the results.

  • Identifying missing information and determining methodologies to obtain them.

  • Developing design of experiments.

  • Participation, processing and interpretation in lab & pilot test campaigns.

  • Writing and presenting project/study/test reports.

  • Participates in Studies as well as on site, plant operations support or process reviews.

  • Helps to identify cost effective solutions to design problems.

  • Produces specifications.

  • Assists with the development and execution of commissioning and validation.

  • Actively participates in industry conferences and seminars.

  • Fosters a spirit of enthusiasm, client focus and team building.

What will you contribute?

  • University degree in Extractive Metallurgy, or Chemical Engineering, from a recognized University.

  • Basic understanding of Thermodynamic fundamentals.

  • Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.

  • Strong desire to learn new processes and new skills.

  • Must enjoy some level of programming, simulation, data processing. 

  • Strong presentation, written and communication skills.

  • Energetic and enthusiastic to deal with multiple competing deadlines and manage time appropriately.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team of engineers.

  • Commitment to project deadlines and milestones.
