If you are Project Engineering Manager, with exceptional interpersonal skills, love delivering projects and are keen to play a key part in the next generation of nuclear energy, then this could be the role for you.

The Team

Our Nuclear New Build business of around 250 people is based in Bristol, Epson and Warrington. We have been involved in nuclear since the first generation of Magnox reactors, and now specialise in taking on the most challenging nuclear engineering projects and opportunities. With existing relationships with the major operators in the nuclear sector, we offer a stimulating variety of work, within a team which is still growing to meet the challenge of new nuclear build. We are heavily involved in all of the associated sectors including fusion, HPC, SZB, BRB, new build, small modular reactors and international decommissioning.

The Person

Involved from the initial enquiries, you will play a key role in engendering client confidence during the bid process, planning the delivery and a strong focus on the contract. During the delivery phase you will use your leadership, influencing skills and project insight to provide direction and confidence to the project team, maintain an excellent relationship with the client and ensure exemplary delivery effectiveness.

You will be responsible for the commercial aspects of the project, identifying and mitigating risks adroitly, and anticipating engineering challenges and opportunities.

The role will require close working with the leadership team, financial and commercial functions and clients, but you will always maintain a thorough grasp of the technical issues and an unerring focus on safety.

You’ll need to have;

The ability to draw the highest quality from the team around you, ensuring they are fulfilling the client’s requirements.

The responsiveness to deal quickly and effectively to a changing project landscape

The competence to inspire the client to trust you with their project, and to come back to you again and again

The potential to move up through our company

We are an open minded organisation and invite applications from a range backgrounds. It is likely that you will be a chartered engineer, with a project management qualification or equivalent experience. Your experience should have been gained in a highly regulated industry with a key focus on safety.

You will need to provide examples of successful projects you have delivered and demonstrate how your experience can be applied to the job scope above. This will include a thorough understanding of the full life cycle of complex projects involving multiple disciplines, a persuasive and influential character, and the ability to get results from geographically and organisationally diverse teams.

You will need to be exceptional organisational and time management skills. Able to work with priorities and identify conflicts.
