Quantity Surveyor

The Atkins UK Infrastructure Project Delivery Practice (PDP) is the Centre of excellence for the delivery of infrastructure projects and the home unit for our project management staff. The team is responsible for delivery of design services across our Markets of Water Infrastructure, Defense Infrastructure, Aviation, Energy, Stations and Urban Developments. These may be delivered as single major projects or a programme of smaller projects. Our Clients include, AWE, Berkeley Homes, BAE Systems, DIO, EDF, Environment Agency, Gatwick Airport, Heathrow Airport, High Speed 2, Horizon, London City Airport Metropolitan Police, United Utilities, Scottish Water, Sellafield, Seven Trent Water, St Modwen, Thames Water and Transport for London.

Due to continued success and strong pipeline of work, we are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor into our Glasgow team. Candidates will ideally have prior experience in sectors including commercial offices, corporate real estate and defence; and in this role will have the opportunity to work on a diverse and exciting range of projects and programmes supporting a variety of high profile local and national clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide a full range of Quantity Surveying duties from project inception through to completion, working both as part of a team and individually
• Prepare cost plans, estimates, bills of quantities, tender documents
• Provide post contract Quantity Surveying services
• Prepare data and reports to timescales in a format required by line management and clients
• Coordinate and Prepare Multidisciplinary Change Quotations
• Work collaboratively with other service teams to provide an integrated approach to client delivery
• Develop client relationships and provide an outstanding level of service delivery on a project basis, in conjunction with senior management

Requirements

• Experience working for a professional quantity surveying/cost management consultancy business, with a demonstrable track record of delivering a high-quality service
• Qualifications in Quantity Surveying (degree or equivalent)
• Professionally qualified Quantity Surveyor or working towards APC
• Experience working within a defence sector or highly regulated environment preferred
• Working of NEC4 forms of contract
• Ability to work well as part of a team, but also confidence and determination to deliver excellence in market-facing roles with clients
• Knowledge and understanding of the component parts of a project and overall construction costs coupled with a competent knowledge of a range of project procurement options.
• IT skills, such as MS office, excel, outlook, BIM / CAD measure, cost planning software CostX/CATO, CEMAR
• Self-motivation and keen to become an integral team member
