This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned veteran or an ambitious self-starter to be a key contributor to growth and expansion of our operations in the Mid-Atlantic region.  You will be the face of the company, brand ambassador, and lead for strategic growth and expansion of our full infrastructure services throughout the states of Virginia and Maryland focused primarily on public sector clients including: cities and counties, state departments of transportation, tolling agencies, airports, ports, water authorities, rail and transit, and federal agencies.

Atkins is currently seeking a Senior Regional Business Development and Sales Director— Mid - Atlantic to join our Business Development team.

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Responsible for growth collaborating with company leadership to develop and execute strategic and tactical business plan for the region
  • Establishes, nurtures, and grows client relationships and serves as client manager for select clients
  • Lead and participate in key pursuits and teaming strategies
  • Represent and promote the company at networking events, professional and industry associations, society meetings, conferences, and tradeshows
  • Assist with organic growth by identifying and recruiting strategic hires to win and deliver work in the region
  • Possess broad market awareness and provides market and competitive analysis

What will you contribute?

  • Education equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, or Management, or the equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating a proven track record of sales for products in similar industry. Ten or more years of sales experience, including five to seven years of sales management experience, or the equivalent in related work experience.
  • Other acceptable degrees include marketing, science, construction or engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of business development in the AEC industry
  • Broad knowledge of infrastructure markets in the Northeast spine
  • Knowledge of and relationships with local governments and private sector entities and the consulting community in the Mid-Atlantic region
  • Self-starter requiring limited oversight
  • Strategic thinker but focused on tactical execution
  • Effective team building and collaboration skills with ability to thrive in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
  • Knowledge and experience in the pursuit of alternative delivery opportunities including design-build; CMAR; and P3. (preferred)
  • Existing relationships with other consulting firms and contractors to facilitate teaming. (preferred)
  • Affiliations with professional societies and active industry and community involvement. (preferred)
