We are looking for Risk Specialist in Abu Dhabi.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Working within a client environment maintain high levels of professionalism and safety culture at all times
  • Supporting the various organisational functions and projects in identifying the risks they are exposed to, by leading and facilitating risk identification meetings and workshops as appropriate and using a variety of risk identification tools and techniques
  • Support the Functions and projects in assessing their risks accurately by using a variety of risk assessment tools and techniques to avoid commonly known assessment bias (conscious factors, subconscious factors and affective factors)
  • Provide advice and guidance to the Functions and project managers on the most appropriate risk management (handling) strategies and responses
  • Support the elimination of risk information redundancy and lack of coverage
  • Support Functions and project managers in following the Enterprise Risk Management governance and ARM users’ guide

Atkins Nuclear, now part of the SNC-Lavalin nuclear division has been operating for over 40 years with operations based in the Canada, UK, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America, and are fully engaged in the development of the next generation of nuclear power.

Our middle east office, centred in Abu Dhabi, has become one of the largest nuclear consultancies across the region, and at the forefront of emerging nuclear power markets.

 

As a result of continued growth, we are looking to recruit a nuclear-experienced project risk specialist to help our client(s) prioritise and mitigate risks on some very complex organisational and technical projects.

 

We are looking for an individual to be based in Abu Dhabi, at the clients’ site, and take a senior client facing role on a secondment basis, but alongside an Atkins/SNC-Lavalin team of professionals.



Requirements:

 

Essential:

  • 6 years + professional experience, of which at least 4 in risk management
  • Qualification in risk management
  • Degree qualified in business, engineering, science, project management or finance
  • Nuclear experience (at least 2years)
  • English fluency
  • Able to work in the field and interact well with delivery teams
  • Good standard of written English and the ability to write clear technical reports
  • Interpersonal skills, able to build and develop relationships internally and externally

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with the Arabic language
  • Experience of SOER-15-2
