Senior Analyst, Corporate Strategy and Development
The Senior Analyst, Corporate Strategy and Development is a key part of the Corporate Strategy team which is responsible for advising SNC-Lavalin’s Board, CEO, sector Presidents and senior executives on strategic direction and providing fact-based insights upon which to make strategic decisions. The selected candidate will support the development of corporate-wide and business specific strategy by leading and contributing to strategy initiatives, developing strategic insights based on research and data analysis, creating executive-level presentations and reporting on business performance.
While a temporary posting (12-month contract for a maternity leave replacement), the selected candidate will have the opportunity to learn about and contribute to SNC-Lavalin’s overall strategy, to gain exposure to many facets of our business, work with key executives and management across the company and deliver results on challenging assignments in a dynamic team environment. The Senior Analyst, Corporate strategy and development position is an important member of the Corporate Strategy team and is supported in developing professional strategy and consulting skills while contributing actively to the team’s objectives.
Our ideal candidate is someone who has management consulting experience and can draw on their critical analysis skills, business acumen and experience in market research, data analysis and presentation development to develop business strategy deliverables and business performance reports that are clear, compelling, fact-based, actionable and measurable.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Structure and carry-out strategy engagements by defining scope, hypotheses to test, analysis approach including input-gathering interviews / workshops and final deliverable components.
•Manage engagements and initiatives while coordinating contributing internal and external subject matter experts and advisors (as are applicable).
•Conduct research and analysis independently to establish key insights on topics such as market outlook, competitive landscape, macro-economic and engineering and construction trends and innovation.
•Develop executive-level narratives and deliverables in PowerPoint and Excel.
•Update and carry-out analysis on the corporate strategy project database, interfacing with Corporate Finance, on an as-needed basis, to confirm performance reporting outcomes and key conclusions.
•Lead the ENR submission for SNC-Lavalin’s market performance (in Q1 and Q2), obtaining timely approval from Finance and Business stakeholders. ENR (Engineering News Record) is the leading engineering and construction market journal that ranks companies by performance in key markets.
•Ability to grasp and communicate complex ideas clearly.

•Experience analyzing data and developing key insights and recommendations.
•Experience developing compelling and clear fact-based presentations.
•Knowledge of SNC-Lavalin’s activities (type of projects, markets, competitors) an asset.
•General business acumen and a basic understanding of corporate finance.
•Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
•Experience in management consulting a plus.
•Bilingualism (fluent in written and oral English and French).
